Hi there before i signed up I was told I can use my telecom Thompson modem but the lady who signed me up said that slingshot dont do support for this modem only their own and gave me a free standard one

I want to use my same wireless one anyone know how I can do this???

Also I was told the person who refered me who had slingshot would give a credit to the person who did she said they dont do that !!!

Im very happy with the deal 80 bucks for 50 gig and 20 free smart phone services

Anyone know what the speed is line in Auckland

I was getting 15000  with telecom.. I gather that won't be the same

But im not paying telecom 100 dollars for phone broadband and 20 gig. no way..

The email addresses provided by ISP's are a customer lockin tactic as a use doesn't want to go through the hassle of telling all about the new address. I would say get a google gmail account or a hotmail and don't use the ISP provided one, they way if you change again you wont have that issue.

What you can do is pay xtra for a month or two to keep your mailbox, cost ~$10 I believe. Then if you sign up to gmail or hotmail you can have them check your xtra inbox, so you can retrieve all your e-mails in one place, and reply using your new address.

You may not even need to pay them it may simply keep working for awhile till they get around to removing it.

Line Speeds can vary alot depending on a large number of variables.
For example I get 15mbit sync rate in the CBD (Annex M) 1.9Mbit Up I'm 1505.1meters from the exchange give or take 25meters.

Usually when moving between providers there wont be much change if your changing from Telecom wholesale to Slingshot Telecom UBA service you should not notice any difference in speed.

If your moving on to our MSAN phone exchanges you may notice either a increase or decrease in speed, I moved from telecom (10mbit sync to Voda's MSANS 16mbit sync to our MSANS 15mbit sync everyone seemds to be diffrent.

I'm quite sure what happens is that you don't get the "premium" email features for free but you get the basic service for free as its with yahoo.

In 2011 we moved from town to the country, we moved the ADSL that we had from Telecom in town to the new houe in the country. A few months later we moved to Vodafone. I never thought anything of the email and we still have it. I don't appear to be alone in this either...
