Hi all I have a token LGP500 and I recently used the sim tool-kit settings to get the correct APN settings sent to my mobile.

The problem is about 5 times per day I now receive alert notifications in the status bar about android market place apps etc that I have no interest in and I'm concerned these alerts are costing me $$. I'm sure its a simple matter of sending a stop message to a certain number hopefully someone knows thus number.

The second problem I have is I can not receive MMS from Telecom XT numbers; yes i have checked and triple checked all of my settings and all seems to be ok could the fact my number was originally ported over from XT be of any problem?

Thanks in advance

What are these apps notification? Are they received as SMS and visibile in the Message app? Or are they just the standard market notification saying there's an update for installed apps?

If this is the market notification then it's nothing to do with 2degrees, but how Android Market works...

Hi, no they are not received as a SMS they are only received in the notifications pull down menu with little green"+" next to the link. I just did some digging though the market settings an noticed "Google Admob Ads" has been ticked could this be the culprit? I have un-ticked it anyway. Slightly sneaky if 2Deg enabled this without my permission

Thanks

I would say 2degrees did not tick those in any way.

+1 This is not related to 2Degrees and no way they could tick that box

Nor would they want to - there's no benefits to them in doing so (they wouldn't even get 10c per click or anything)

I have to ask - did you try to find the answers first, or did you just post straight in here?

The first thing - It's Android!!! It's what Android does. They are messages from the Android market.

Not sure why you would even thing they were being pushed to you by 2degrees. It would happen to you no matter which network you were on.

You need to go away and learn a lot more about your phone and android.

The second thing with the MMS is well know.

While there are carrier interconnect agreements for SMS so that text messages flow between networks, there are no such agreements for MMS, hence you can only send MMS to other phones on the same network as you.

Apparently NOT that well known. We have full interconnect between 2degrees, Telecom and Vodafone and we can interconnect with many international networks also.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

John

sounds like you have installed a free application that has something like Airpush integrated.
You should always check all system permissions when installing a application
