Hi There,

For the last few weeks now I have been experiencing random high latency both during the day and the evenings.

Normal latency for say pinging Orcon is ~ 25 ms. Instead during these random periods of high latency I am experiencing anything in the range of ~ 800/900/1000 ms.

At times latency returns to a normal ~ 25 ms but most of tonight its been high. See the results below.
I am in Wellington.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

A few weeks back I logged a call and was sent a replacement Genius. I installed this on the weekend so it was a fresh install. I didn't notice any problems all weekend and now same problem so it can't be the hardware.

I am confident the issue does not exist on my end.
I have tested bits here and it does work fine at times. I have reset and rebooted the Genius many times and I experience the same problem.

Its a mission to deal with first line support so hoping someone from Orcon can help on here.

So far tonight the problem started ~ 8:30/9PM and its still going.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

Do you know what exchange you are connected to?

Assuming it will be Thondon? I live in Thorndon in Wellington.
Another thing is that issue has only started ~ 2 months back. Never had any problems before.

Thanks

You're not alone, I'm experiencing exactly the same issues. Mine happens at night and pings can go up to 7s, packet loss all over the show.

My thread. I opened a ticket about this on the 1st July and haven't had any useful responses back, just a lot of "please do an isolation test" (have told them multiple times the Genius is the only thing on the line) and run this speedtest app, etc.

I should add I'm in central Auckland with a Genius.
