xpd: Genius Go is the phone app for smartphones - I assume you mean the Genius router itself.
I have no issues with connecting to other devices on the network, wired or wifi. What firmware is your router running ? Have you enabled the second SSID by any chance ?

xpd: Windows Firewall isnt enabled by any chance on your devices ? :)

FireEngine: Are your "laptop" and your "macbook air" the same thing or two devices?
If two devices, can the macbook see the laptop when the laptop is connected by cable?
Sounddude: Some modems have an option called "Wifi Separation". Can't remember if Genius supports it.
have a look in the wifi section.

xpd: If you havent played with any options in the Genius, then it should work fine - Ill check mine when I get home tonight and see if theres anything that could cause an issue. (Forgot to enable Teamviewer today :) )
