I bought a 2021 model Sony full array led tv, and it only has an RF (TERRESTRIAL/CABLE) CONNECTION INPUT(S). Similar to the picture below

The bottom flank (on the rear panel) features a LAN port, a RF connector, a proprietary connector for composite and component inputs (hence a breakout cable), and two HDMI ports. ARC (Audio Return Channel) is integrated with the HDMI 1 inlet.

I have 2 wall connectors available: 1 terrestrial and 1 cable (using an F socket to PAL converter).

I scanned both analogue and digial channels but nothing is picked up, what am I doing wrong?

You have to have a terrestrial UHF antenna that produces signal with sufficient strength and quality connected to the wall socket.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

What type of aerial can you see on the roof somewhere?

1) How did you previously obtain TV signal - via this cable or a Freeview box ?

My previous Samsung TV had a satellite connection where we plugged a cable in from a dish.

I don't have Sky or Freeview box.

I phoned a TV guy who entered the following settings manually on the Samsung: Satellite #1 OPTUS D1 160.0E, LNB Frequency 10750.

Unfortunately I can't find a place in the Sony TV's settings to enter these settings manually.

There is also an old antenna, but I don't think this is digital, I tried it in any case and it also didn't work.

It seems you don't have an aerial and may not even be in a terrestial reception area.

The first thing to confirm is if you are even in the right area - where about are you?

If you are in the right area, then you will need to have an aerial installed.

If you are not in a terrestial area, then you will need to buy a satellite reciever to pick up the signal from the satellite dish.

EDIT: You won't find a place to enter satellite settings because it doesn't have a satellite tuner.

Installing a UHF antenna is better option than satellite service as sat is all standard definition mpeg2 transmissions that look vulgar on any modern TV.
