Oncop53: I am probably dreaming here, but would it be possible to use FreeView Plus through a HTPC running KODI ?
LGSAM: For Freeview Plus to work does the TV or other device just need the HBB TV option or does it need special configuration to work with Freeview NZ .

MileHighKiwi: Sorry if this has been covered earlier in the thread, but will this work with my current Vodafone TV setup, which I get Freeview through?

grolschie: Funny, cos I could watch that IPTV test channel 600 a while back on my 2013 Panasonic E6. I could watch Big Buck Bunny and other stuff. So, older TVs do support IPTV TV via the Freeview platform.

joshhill96:Thanks . The reason I ask is because my LG does not appear on the list of supported devices but I know if I set it to Australian broadcast service I will be able to turn on HBB and then re-tune to our free-view Frequency . But I have no idea if this will work .LGSAM: For Freeview Plus to work does the TV or other device just need the HBB TV option or does it need special configuration to work with Freeview NZ .
Yes, HBBTV can be toggled on/off from the settings, but HBBTV needs to be switched on to enable the FreeviewPlus pop up notification

If any IPTV channels come to Freeview (Fully stream channels without an app) Then your TV will receive them, The Retune Info channel is an example of this anything interactive will be able to work with your device/TV (Excludes FPlus)
I wonder if HbbTV can be switched on in the hidden 'system' menus of TVs that support it on overseas variants...?

Probably not if it's anywhere near as locked down as the previous EPG thing was.
Yabanize: Could Lightbox and Netflix be added to this possibly

A good question to ask Lightbox... Could be possible?
mm1352000:I have just changed my 2014 LG to Australian broadcast location and turned HBB TV on , re tuned and reset GMT time and now have Freeview plus working fine , haven't noticed any bugs with it considering the way I have had to do this ,LGSAM: The reason I ask is because my LG does not appear on the list of supported devices but I know if I set it to Australian broadcast service I will be able to turn on HBB and then re-tune to our free-view Frequency . AFAIK the main difference between AU and NZ broadcasts is the DVB-T bandwidth. AU has 7 MHz channels; NZ has 8 MHz channels. The rest - DVB-T, EIT and MHEG 5 for EPG, and now HbbTV - is much of a muchness. If I owned your TV and FreeviewPlus support is not enabled in the near future then I'd start making a lot of noise on Facebook and Twitter, email and call support channels etc., because the only reason not to enable support would seem to be money.
