You shouldn't want a browser on a 10ft viewing device, that's just stupid, for authenticating a captive portal, fair enough but for anything else it's stupid.

Any device with cast.api is more than sufficient.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I want a browser so I'm covered with any steaming service that doesn't have a compatible app or can not be cast to the device, such as Prime Video.

Prime video has an apk, just install it.

You can cast a chome browser from your pc/mac with cast.api and you will have a keyboard and mouse on that source device. But casting s tab runs at 720p 25fps so looks crap.

Better to find alternatives.

Especially as Amazon prime originals are offered in 4K HDR for no extra cost to view.

Thank you. Should have me covered for Prime Video, but just out of curiosity does it have a compatible browser?

You can install chrome mobile via side load but I haven't found a browser yet that works like a desktop one easily.

The best browser is probably the puffin browser, however no browser is obviously ideal for TV

I just tried Prime Video and while I could sideload it fine it just came up with an error code when starting. I have no issues with Prime Video on any other devices in the house.

I'm also not sure if there are any Amazon TV certified browsers - you can sideload Chrome (and most of the other browsers) but none work properly in my experience on Android TV since they're all designed to be controlled by a touch screen.

Any kind of hacked-on browser solution is going to be janky, especially without a keyboard and mouse. In fact, some streaming services are designed to refuse to play on certain useragents.

Agree with Puffin Browser for Android TV

Works just fine on a MiBox running Android TV (Oreo).

Likewise at The Warehouse for $349 is it's fully integrated terrestrial/satellite tuners and full HDD recording cousin (RRP $449)

Wish they'd update the EPG.

To me it seems you can see the table but clicking on a program name doesn't actually change the channel.
