Is anyone receiveing any EPG from the Prime DVB-S option?

@darreljnz
Just start the TV Engine Configuration application and rescan the satellite. When its finished you should see that a new TV channel has been added - it should appear on the 12456 mux. Select the TV Channels display and confirm that Prime is at the bottom of the list and that it is checked. If you have more than one DVB-S card, remember to map the channel to the other card also.

Select TV EPG Grabber and check the new PRIME channel so that it collects EPG (mine isn't at the moment). It should be at the bottom of that list also unless you have clicked the list header to sort by channel name.

Close the configuration program. That should be it.

Cheers Mike

You can just do a transponder scan of 12456 on 7MC and it will add the channel in. If you do a full scan you'll end up with a whole lot of encrypted channels as you discovered.

so as of today I can now see the prime tv schedule on freeview (on the next channel over from TV3's delayed coverage... why do none of the other channels do this?!), but I can't actually view the channel itself!!! wtf is up with that I wonder

This is most proberly a milestone in the Digital TV Switchover. This means that there is one more FTA channel to come over to freeview: Trackside

Spong: For anyone using the Vantage HD6000T/NZ it's an easy re-tune. Simply go to Menu/Installation/Auto Scanning and let the process take place, then save when scanning reaches 100%. Prime will get added with it's correct name displayed in slot 10. I did this to both of my Vantages, and all timer events remained intact.

I didn't get quite the same result! I lost all my timer settings, although luckily had backed them up about 3 weeks ago (thank god for that feature). I think it may be that I re-ordered the channels after re-scanning (so that Prime sat before Maori TV). So, if you have a Vantage and plan anything other than r-scanning, I suggest you back up your timers...

As far as I am aware / understand it Trackside is not a FTA channel as such, its a unencrypted Sky TV channel using UHF.

Once Sky pulls the plug on their UHF network (Which is starting on the 31 August 2009 in Taupo), Trackside will disappear from FTA TV.

The only other FTA channel to come to Freeview is Triangle TV (Unless its Stratos on Freeview) & any regional TV stations.

lmao, i remember getting trackside years ago, then it would switch to discovery channel, i think i was picking it up from the neighbours.  also used to be able to watch what they did on some of the other sky channels.

DO A TRANSPONDER SCAN BECAUSE ITS HERE! WOOWOO:
Prime Now Available on Freeview Monday, 17 August 2009, 11:15 am
Press Release: FreeView

Freeview Limited and SKY Television announce that an agreement has been reached regarding Prime Television being made available on Freeview satellite? and Freeview |HD? platforms from Monday 17th August, 2009.

Having launched a little over two years ago, the availability of Prime on Freeview now brings the total number of channels to 13 on Freeview satellite? and 12 on Freeview|HD?. This is yet another compelling reason for Kiwis to switch from analogue TV to free-to-air digital TV.
