I've got a few immediate problems

 

A black screen on a recording (was only recording one channel) Going to yellow and viewing recording properties doesn't give me any data like other recordings (length etc) 

 

Q) Could this be a sign the hard drive is failing?

 

Q2) Not able to resume viewing a recording after pausing for a long period (>1min)  -disabled timeshift just in case.

 

Q3) Box intermittently shows a black screen after turning on the TV. Turning the box off and on using standby brings it back.

 

Software version is the same (latest) as Mataigeek posted.

Having just up graded from a S7090 satbox to the S8200 I find that when I pause live TV then push play and I'm in the chasing mode, I can rewind and fast forward but cannot skip fwd or reverse as I use to with the S7090.

 

If I get an hour or so behind I can only fast forward to get to the end or back to the start other than stopping the "paused Live TV", saving then view in library. The jump to function doesn't seem to function from the 'Blue button' either.

 

I can only skip fwd and reverse when I am viewing a recording from the library.

Hey I've just had a customer advise me they couldn't fast forward after the upgrade by holding the fast forward button down. 

 

Not sure if its related but after the update holding the chapter next/previous button performs the faster time skip.

 

 

 

 

Hi, I am currently getting this investigated with the team, I will replicate on my unit today to test and then will get back to you with further information, with these reports coming in, we will look into it now.

Just a question, Is the connection between the unit and the TV a HDMI connection? I will test this now and get back to you with my reports, I have just sent a note through the team with High Importance so will push this info through when requested, could you send me through your serial number and your customers if possible,

Also regarding q3 above. Yes connected via HDMI. When turning the tv off it also puts s8200 in standby. When turn tv back on I also need to cycle power to s8200. Sometimes it will wake up straight away but more often it completely reboots which takes at least 1 minute before picture shows and then longer for it to actually be ready to show EPG per say.

I believe it needs to store EPG in the background instead of requesting it when you push the button.

Also when changing channel it tells me everytime that it is live recordin. .. I know that I don't need reminded every time I change channel. The banner is just annoying.

Also again the time shift display on the box is a waste of time. I'd rather see which channel number it is on. I know I have enabled time shift. Again don't need reminded. I simply want it to record in the background.

items in the library contain the programs that were listed to record were indeed there.......but............there were additional programs shown in the library..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

you may notice that the ghost programs (from other channels) start at exactly the same time/same date.

 

 

 

also when the ghost programs were played (IE infomercial) it was a carbon copy of Britain spending secrets

 

one news a copy of sensing murder

 

NCIS a copy of house rules.

 

 

 

Its driving 'er indoors mad and now I'm running out of excuses....she already has the telephone number for SKY

Thanks for providing these details, they do help with sorting issued like these out,

 

Could you go and press the Yellow Button on the ghosted programme, go to Record Property and then find the ID of the show which is beside the red circle (Single ID)and Series Link ID (2 circles) please note this down and then do the same for the actual proper recorded show and note down the same, do this on all ghosted groups and send them to me to have a look. If they are the same ID's then we will need to look into it on Tuesday as well as if they are different I will need to launch a note to the broadcaster and Freeview to obtain the EPG data from those recordings to see what the situation is.

Hi...new S8200 beginning this year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

some strange happenings noticed.

 

 

 

 

 

- TVNZ channel 1 disappeared and took a re scan to recover it

 

  Signal issues can cause this.

 

 

 

 

 

- Scheduled list library drops scheduled programs

 

  Signal issues can cause this.

 

 

 

 

 

- when a series ends the scheduler continues to search ad infinitum until forced to stop

 

  Signal issues can cause this.

 

 

 

 

 

- non demanded programmes turn up in the library apparently as a result of pausing a live programme which then records the channel including programmes following the paused item

 

This is normal if you are not pushing stop twice to clear the timeshift you started. When two recordings start the timeshift is automatically saved so the you do not lose the content you paused on.

 

 

 

 

 

- 2 items in the library cant be deleted...whilst the deletion process says OK ...items deleted...they remain and when clicked show "no audio or video files"

 

Not sure the reason for this issue, You could try deleting from series view or episode view. Failing that possibly doing a factory default might help.

Umm...........signal issues causing some listed entries to disappear whilst others on the same channel remain.. 

 

 

 

Umm............items that cant be deleted may require a factory reset and thus lose all recorded programmes.....

Hi Thanks yes HDMI connection. I will get serial number.

 

Also same customer different fault:

 

(with timeshift off) While watching a recorded program customer tried to fast forward ads unit would stop responding progress bar went back to beginning. Unit responded again once the recording finished.
