sdavisnz: What don't you like about the epg

To me it seems you can see the table but clicking on a program name doesn't actually change the channel.

This is one of the single biggest failings of the product IMHO. When you call up the EPG you should be able to click on a show and watch it, and not have to then exit back and change to the channel you want to watch.

Anyone have trouble with hdmi cec volume control in this device?

I have a Sony bravia 2015, after setting up bravia sync the volume control on the smart vu controls the internal stb volume not my TV volume.

Anyone else experience this?

That and there is no onscreen time. And when you browse the light EPG (ie still watching a show) there are no descriptions.

Does anyone know how I might get the Prime Video apk on this device?  I am looking into how to do it but so far I can't even get the file physically onto the device.

Ok, Thank you.   I got it installed but so far it's not working.  I will try again later.

Or you could download from here and install via a memory stick.

I used the APK and I installed it with ES File Manager.  I am not sure how I would use a memory stick though since the SmartVU only has a micro USB port.

I've already mentioned further up this thread that I couldn't get the Prime Video app to work. I spent some more time playing with it after that and gave up on it. It came up with some sort of error code when it started.

Might be the same reason that Netflix won't work, DRM issue or similar.

Netflix 4k hdr works on my Sony 4k hdr TV from this dongle for me.

If you Google himedia s1 it's part of the release notes too.

And did you find Netflix on the Play Store or sideloaded it?

This is the forum for the dongle not the uhf/sat box, Netflix is pre-installed.
