foamfollower: I have a sinking feeling about the very large logos in the top left corner for Mondo in some of the travel programmes - perhaps that is the advertisement.

The sponsor logos only appear during promos.

I tried to set up a season pass on my TiVo for "Shifting Gears" but it wouldn't let me. I was only allowed to record the next episode..

Have a DishTV  T1050  and I cant record  a single program  via EPG,  all it does is flag all the next 24 hour
programs for record.

No problem with any other channels.

foamfollower: Regarding the quality of the reel footage currently on Choice TV, on their Facebook page today they say:
"The loop reel is a bit fuzzy yes. That's playing out of TVNZ and they are doing their best to sort it. We take over tonight so things will improve."

So is Choice TV in bed with TVNZ?? Still think they should have had this all sorted before going to air....very strange

Possibly just hiring their facilities. That would make sense, rather than buying your own.

Not on the same MUX as TVNZ.

Plus why is it advertised as being on Freeview HD Channel 12  ?  in the TV guide.

bfginger: When I try to book a recording on the Magic TV from the Choice TV EPG on the Kordia mux it gives an error and won't work.

And does "Celebrity Juice" really run for 17 and a half hours?

Funny that, if I try a single  EPG recording on a DishTV T1050  it selects them all, the next 24 hours worth..?

They all get flagged for Recording and including the next page on the Guide, but not the next week.

hdinsider: I thought I might record the launch and tried to program up a recording. Booked the first "Welcome to Choice" show and it also booked every other show in the choice epg!

The epg data must be bung.

Yes same here on a DishTV  T1050 all 24 hours worth, funny sort of bug.

old3eyes: I see reading on line today that they won't broadcast in HD because it costs too much for the HD programming. A bit backwards in this day and age I think..

But its avertised as being HD in the TV Guide.

I can now set an individual episode to record from the EPG on the Magic TV but series link doesn't work.

Choice was having its loop broadcast by TVNZ, prior to the 28th of this month.

In HD or on Freeview|HD?

I agree all the channels in Freeview|HD should be HD.. But that would require a lot more multiplexes.

Not if they move to DVB T2  as Sky has done with its Igloo channel

In the UK  when they went DVB-T2  it all got moved  to VHF III  for far better coverage, one thing that NZ should do.

Freeview is not going to force everyone to buy new T2-capable boxes. There could potentially be new niche channels on a forthcoming T2 mux, but the existing channels will be on "T1" for the foreseeable future.

I've just been looking around the Digital UK site and it appears that they're using ~450-550 MHz. This isn't too far off the ~550-600 MHz that we're moving to.

Watched a bit last night. Picture quality not too bad, was expecting worse ...

My only gripe at the moment has to be the sound. Its much softer than the other channels, and I have to adjust the volume everytime when switching
