sommet: We will go live when we can offer the best Sports Channel, we still have work to do.  We hope that you are enjoying what we are currently offering.  Your feedback is positively appreciated

Thank you for letting us have a timely update sommet. Could you help me identify the channel in the hawkes bay area on freeview?

Hi Sommet.

It's really great to see you interacting so regularly on Facebook! Awesome.

How soon will live events be restricted to devices which support MHEG5 only? And will this only affect live events, or will all content eventually require MHEG5? Thanks.

This going to sounds like a really dumb question, but how do you actually find Sommet? I have a Samsung TV with a built-in Freeview tuner, a Panasonic DVD recorder with a built-in Freeview tuner, and, for what it is worth in this context, SkyTV. But I'll be damned if I can find Sommet anywhere. I see that it requires "an approved Freeview tuner" because of MHEG-5 (not that I understand what that means other than what Google tells me). So I am gonna speculate that I don't have an approved Freeview tuner? Would that be a reasonable assumption?

We are a hidden channel at the moment and therefore you will not be able to scroll up or down to fine us.

Please press 114 on the remote control and we should be there.

Sorry I only just saw your post.

We expect that you will need to have an MHEG5 device between 3 to 6 months after the launch.  If you do not it will restrict the live events.

Ah, that did it.  Supplementary question, Mr Speaker.  And where would I find program listing for what's on?  I see some activity on Facebook but no real program listing.

We are testing at the moment and setting up our automation system, therefore there is no EPG. This will be available when we are fully launched. We are notifying viewers with our live events and some of our programming via our facebook page.

Thanks for the reply. Does "restrict" mean the live events will not be viewable at all without MHEG5? Or that extra things (I'm guessing overlays, etc) will be not seen without it?

Can you explain exactly what MHEG5 will be used for and how it will work? (Unless it's a secrete?). Does MHEG5 actually provide some kind of content protection feature?

I'm guessing it will be something like a home director where you can press the different coloured buttons to get different camera angles .
