dclegg:
tvninja: Check out the One News website from June 17, 1996.

Bit of a worry when Mr News can't even keep his facts consistent between title and content :-)

Eeek!

Thanks for this.  I have launched a full investigation in to how this happened and plan to announce the departure of a scapegoat at some stage soon.

I originally thought the screencap was from a 1995 Ruapehu eruption, but it turned out the eruption being reported was in 1996.

No biggie, I was just being an Internet pedant. Apparently your access to the Internet is revoked if you don't post at least one pedantic retort per day. I read it in a Facebook post, so it must be true.

TVNZ’s online news has undergone a makeover to align more closely with its on-air counterpart and now has its own dedicated site, onenews.co.nz.

Did it go live yet? My first visit there for a long time. The RSS is nice and I will return to subscribe. That is good because there is no way I would use the service otherwise.

The unfortunate use of in page video advertisements and over-animated banners detract from the brand.
