I've got much worse reception after the retune as well. Lost channel three completely but managed to get it back by raising my aerial. Even now I'm still having drop outs on one & TVNZ7. Three seems more stable than one now.

I'm on the coast in Hataitai

TV1 and TV2 are on the same MUX. Theoretically you shouldn't really be able to only pick up one of these, such an issue would possibly tend to indicate a device issue rather than a singal one.

I have the same issue on a tivo. 2 and 3 work fine but just a grey screen for 1. Need to have a closer look at it but having to work right now. I have direct, clear line of site to Kaukau so it?shouldn't?have any issues really.
When you triune TiVo, make sure you set it to forget previous settings, took 3 times to work it out

Yeap did that, that was in tivos own notification instructions. But still had the same problem occur. Mine required aerial adjustment to get tv1 back.

Ta managed to get them from my tv as well.

I am still using gbpvr since there was no reason to update.

Before I read this post I had worked out I needed to modify my ini file to be

[TERTYPE]
1=New Zealand
2=Wellington (Mt KauKau)
[DVB]
;Position = Channelname,Frequency(KHz),Inversion(0,1),0,Bandwidth (7MHz=1, 8MHz=2)
0=3
1=C48,562000,0,0,8
2=C50,578000,0,0,8
3=C59,594000,0,0,8

and I can't see any TVNZ muxes when I do a rescan - only TV3 and Prime etc.

Not sure what is wrong in my ini file

My reception has increased since the retune. We're out in whitby with a masthead amp too.

I think my reception has worsened as I noticed a fair bit of pixellation on TV3 this morning. And it had some impact on me as I had to retune for epgcollector and gbpvr and now I can't receive TVNZ on my Hauppauge Nova 500-T (well not so far).

I think the question needs to be asked why a perfectly good reception turns to crap after an official retune. If this happens elsewhere then people aren't going to be very happy especially if they have to pay to get someone to come and fix it..

Exactly. You've paid a few hundred to get it going nicely say, and now this screws it up, shouldn't whoever is responsible (Freeview?) have to pay to fix it?

Although whoever was responsible for the frequency change that required everyone to retune their devices, did change things. The MED are the ones who are providing free support. I don't think it is the installers fault, as they setup the aerial within the conditions at the time. If those conditions then change, that is not their fault. It is a bit like expecting a website designed in 2000, to work on the newest web browser in 2012 with no compatibility problems.

If you have a non line of site or marginal line of site reception then there is no way an installer can anticiapate the best compromise height and aiming of an antenna when the frequency changes, a 80MHz change in frequency may not seem a lot but it is approx 15% so a non line of site path could result in any outcome.

I'd have to take issue with you there Mr B ;-)

As Cyril says if you are shaded from the Tx , its impossible to foresee what the reception will be like.
Different trees can affect different frequencies , and if you are really unlucky , can severely attenuate one
Mux and leave the others relatively unscathed.

Having said that , as a general rule of thumb ,signal levels at band IV (New Fr) are normally greater than
band V( Old Fr) in the outlying / badly shade areas.

As an aside my 3 muxes here , LOS to Fitzherbert , have increased

FWIW, after the frequency change in Dunedin, I noticed a lot of people complaining that their Freeview UHF signal/picture would cut out more frequently.

Cyril's explanation is starting to make a lot of sense now.

Ad I noted earlier in this thread I can no longer receive TVNZ following this change on my n Nova-T 500 but can on my old DVB-T tuner box. And I recently had my aerial signal strength checked by an installer who pronounced it fine.
