Zipdisk:
peejayw: Good to know its going to be fixed. On the whole I have found DishTV to be very responsive to issues. They have told me that the MP3 porblem is a licensing issue and will be sorted out in a new update. Also, access to the hard-drive via the usb port will be added soon allowing archiving of the drive contents to external storage. This will be a major plus in my opinion.

Yes wishfull thinking I dont belive the rubish about MP3  as there are 3rd party decoders, funny there other products list MP3 support.

I also got a similar reply regarding NTFS that they could not use because of licensing issue, funny how other PVRs use it plus a search on the new provided a link to a 3rd party version.

Rubbish about MP3? There is licencing required for this, and from what dish TV have told me they are in the process of getting this and will be released in a future firmware update.
The Other products they have, they said come from a different manufacture who already has licencing for MP3.

Its allowed to backup but only in SD mode, so HD and Full HD recordings will have to be down converted.

When backing up files from the Unit to USB they will not have to be dropped in resolution they will just need to be encrypted.

LOL umm...? i think if all recordings were in SD on my flash drive when i record them on my T1020 they would all be playable on my computer but the ones i know were HD when recorded are not able to be played back? this indicates there encrypted and are in a codec only readable by the receiver its self

I just found a similar post regarding TV+1  problem here at Geekzone to do with a Panasonic DMR-XW390 wont record +1
and quoted Panasonic came back that its a EPG feature , this is what I was told by DishTV some time back.

And also The Magic TV does the same thing

So how come others sate that there PVR's all work or they think they do.

I seen quotes that the + channels uses the same  CRID and thats the problem..?
