DjShadow: Of course this now begs the question of the feed we'd normally find on Optus D2 (usually), will this continue or be brought in via Fibre

This w/end will tell.

Keep an eye on vetrun forums D2 feeds.

If 7 still need to send their feed across aus, it will. But they may also move it to Cband AS/I sats. (think 2m+ dishes)

If it goes via cable, and sky uplink encrypted. Goodbye fta

Boy things have changed since I posted that this morning!!

Still its not exactly wonderful news. I don't have Sky and as much as I like to follow the racing, it not going to make me sign up any time soon. I didn't spend money building a high spec HTPC for HD Freeview, to then go buy MySky as well.

I'll certainly be looking for other options - surely it will be streamed somewhere else. Here's hoping anyway...

Sometimes life is a bitch. I pay for Sky and am glad that I do.

It is my leisure dollar to spend the way I like.

Stop moaning coz you don't have Sky. The remedy is in your hands.

I don't think they will, they never put ads in nascar (unless its changed recently)

Its in the Sky EPG now, just says "Australian V8s Race 1 Live", nothing about HD so I assume sky will just upscale it

Feed is full of holes for adverts out of aus. (they get it on FTA channels, along with the F1 and most 1st grade rugby/cricket)

The only one that doesn't is the internet stream, which has a different commentator during the 'ads' that we would hear on the off the sat feeds

One can only hope that this could form the basis for a Motorsport ONLY channel on Sky...

This is something I've been dreaming about for almost 20 years...

add on local and international Speedway, truck racing, monster trucks, Carrera cup, drifting and all sorts of other overseas series.

There would be plenty of content to ensure 24/7 coverage no repeats and no events older than 1 month but I guess it would cost a lot to source it all...

Still if they ever made it I would sign up - no hesitation!

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

I might actually pay for sky sports for a 24/7 motorsport channel
