Bear in mind that this is a dual tuner device, and that with time shift turned on, it is effectively always recording. Freeview is delivered across 3 muxes, but the device only has 2 tuners, which means it can't tune all channels all the time.
Perhaps you are trying to record (including time shift) more channels at a time than you have tuners for.
This happens when I am recording one channel on the same mux , I would have thought with two tuners it could manage this , or at least display an error instead it displays that it is recording and displays a progress time.
I thought it may have been a signal strength issue so I went up on the roof today and fitted a masthead amp , not that the signal here is too bad , but I know that these devices need to split the signal , but this made no difference at all , so I'm all out of theory's
Finally had enough of this , after two visits to repair shop and no results I took it back to the retailer and they replaced it with a Panasonic which does everything as it should without some of the bells and whistles . Thanks for everyone's input.
