Had an email from Sky/Prime yesterday (31 October):

"There are some changes being made overnight, could you please check in the morning to see if you still have the issue via the box. If not resolved try another re -tune and if you could let me know how you go that would be great."

Bob.

Hi.

Just wanted to add my 2c worth.

I am running a win7 Media centre PC with 3 x UHF and 1 x Sat tuner. I am in Taranaki.

Over the last few weeks I have had trouble with Prime on UHF. During normal viewing and recording playback it is fine, but if I skip forward or backward or resume playback from fast forward the picture and sound freezes and it takes a long time for the sound and picture to resume and resync. I usually have to seek through the video several times to get playback to resume. I don't have this problem with any of the other UHF channels that I regularly record, IE 1, 2, 3, 4, Choice. I havn't tried anything on other channels (Maori, C4, Sommet Sports etc) I don't have any problem with Prime on the Sky satellite transponder 12707Mhz. Signal quality on UHF is 100%

This only happens with Prime, only with UHF and has only started happening in the last few weeks.

I suspect there is something different in the way Prime are streaming their video on UHF, perhaps fewer key frames in the video making it harder for devices to maintain video and audio sync especially after skipping through the recording. If this is the case, I can only speculate as to why Prime changed this... It seems to coincide with the initial disappearance from the freeview mux on satellite. Perhaps it is an attempt to reduce the bitrate?

It seems to have improved slightly in the last week or so but is still problematic when trying to skip adverts.

I think this it is the same problem causing the issues in this thread. bad sound, prime freeview terrestrial  by ilovemusic

I don't do facebook I think it's privacy policy is atrocious but I may have to join temporally to get in contact with Prime, unless someone want's to post a link to these threads on their page?

Regards Allen.

If you want to get in contact with Prime, try sending an email to skytv@mailsy.custhelp.com

I posted on their Facebook page but didn't get any response from them, only from other users who had the same problem.  As Bob suggests, emailing them directly is probably your best bet.

I followed the "Contact us" link from the Prime website and ended up at an online support form on the sky website. Automatic acknowledgement of my Incident came from
SKYTV <skytv@mailsy.custhelp.com>, so it looks like I've ended up where you suggested anyway.

I'll see what happens.

Regards Allen
