I bought the MIL a s7090PVR. Compared to the MySky, the UI is very unintuitive. SHe is happy with the unit, and records and watches recorded programs, but it is not intuitive (I go to use it and have to really think about what I am doing).

I just want a simple UI for recording and playback. The MySky one is really easy, copy that.

Keep the analogue inputs, please. Old people / tight arses need options.
Without that, you'll lose sales.
I like what Dish TV has done... many companies came and went prior to the end of the Freeview switch-over, leaving many people without any support. Dish have been around, looking after the legacy kit.

I was a happy DishTV customer for a fair while (up until less than 12 months back). Then after our unit was cooked itself (power surge?), I bought another one from DishTV, only that unit was faulty when it arrived. Sent it back. The replacement was functional, however was unable to pick up reception. Old one was fine, new one not so much. The email/phone help while it was responsive, it didn't help my situation (suggestions that the issues are site/signal related). Flagged the dishTV unit and grabbed a Panasonic unit and have never looked back.
No random reboots required/encountered, the remote feels like a nice remote (DishTV ones look and feel cheap), and the signal is usable (its far from perfect, which is why the DishTV unit balked)

Our products will (and for a very long time) have analogue output for older TVs along with HDMI for newer TVs.

Can you re-instate the Topfield distributorship. The high end stuff is good and has features not found elsewhere.
And also (more importantly) can you initiate being the distributor for the VU+ range.

With respect to keeping an analogue output - can you retain a SCART output.

I've had a number of Dish-TV units over the years, both satellite and terrestrial, some new some refurb -- I've never had any trouble with them. Happy camper.

I have been less than impressed with the remote control that came with the 7090. Its really flimsy and I have to press buttons several times before I can do things like change the channel. If I used it more (mostly use streaming these days) I would not have kept it around.

The interface feels like something from the 90s, so does the usability. Really hope you guys make something that is easier to use for the future.

Oh hell no. scart is the budgitest piece of junk connector and you have no idea what it will and will not output without stuffing around in menus. And it is huge, and problems with not all cables being correctly wired etc. If you must retain analog outs, the composite and component only, preferably with one set of clearly labeled audio sockets and perhaps share the composite with the green of component to get the space requirements down somewhat.

Angstrom, unlike in Europe and Sweden where I guess you're from, the SCART connector was rare on televisions sold in New Zealand. The only good thing about SCART was it could carry standard definition RGB but very few televisions sold in New Zealand would accept that.

S-video was a useful connector for standard definition televisions as the quality was good as component for SD and lacked composite's dot crawl. Not many SD televisions supported component, nearly all that did also had S-video, and nearly all HD televisions have either HDMI or S-video. See if you can enable 576p output on component as it is nearly useless when restricted to 576i. Freeview restrictions don't allow HD on component but 576p is enhanced definition, not high definition.

Also svideo is not as good as component. it still has issues with the pure red's bleeding out and needing way more adjustment to get the colours right.

Scart is best forgotten about. The only thing it did useful was let the old sky boxes be put on a VHS so that you could use the VHS's tuner so timer record worked.

Want to run your audio to somewhere else than the video - lets get a crapload of cheaply made dodgey shielded adapter cables to work around them both coming out of the one plug. Yay.

No Scart support for these boxes as with our latest products, we only retain the Composite Analogue output for non-HD/Modern TVs.

We have a brand new UI which can be customised on some of our new products, but we have cleaned up the interface a little bit to ensure there is no confusion when a user navigates around.

I have several S7070R.

I have found them reliable.

Use HDMI to the TV

Don't use any storage as there is only one tuner.

Found the menu system pretty good and easy to install.

Find the EPG sometimes slow or requires a second button press.
I like the EPG channel review which leaves the current channel operating until you decide to select a new channel.

Had one success with OTH update but find that the USB update easy to use.

Switching from radio to TV requires pressing another button first - mostly use exit button first.
