benneg: Forget your smart TV - extremely limited. The ultimate cable cutting device is an Android TV box with Kodi installed - much cheaper too!
I have Unotelly, so I think I understand how you are doing this. Where are you entering in the Unotelly DNS for Netflix and where are you putting it in for the UK settings? I assume that they both use the same DNS in the Network settings of the TV, but on your Unotelly Dynamo settings on your computer you just set it up for Netflix as USA and use the UK DNS for the smarthub stuff?
I am about to get either a JS9000 or JS8000. So from day one when I set it up when it ask me what is my country I will say US. I will just put in the US dns and set my Unotelly Dynamo for the US as well.
My main reason for wanting the US Smarthub is to have access to HBOGO, SiriusXM and Amazon Instant Video. If I can use the NZ Freeview+ and have access to the NZ on demand and from the flick of a button have access to Game of Thrones or other HBO content in HD I will be pretty happy.
Is this the correct line of thinking?

Do the TVNZ on demand and 3Now apps work on these Android boxes?
Unfortunately due to the restrictions they have placed on there apps most shows will not work - which means that some local content may not be there. All internationals shows are available elsewhere.
This shows how ridiculous these networks are; all other providers I have tried (with Unotelly) will stream from their apps with no problems and without such restrictions. If they want to stop people watching their content then may be they deserve to go out of business. That said I have seen some local content on Kodi sites and you can use your normal recorder from Freeview if necessary.
Let's hope they see sense some day and actually put their products unrestricted into the market place.
