Here is my LNB:

On the decoder D1 shows up like this:

and when I do a scan:

and the lists populate with the various channels.

D2 shows up like this:

but when i do scan on that:

it completes without any channels showing up.  I also note that the strength and quality read 0% when trying to scan D2.

Sky LNB points at D1 and D3 (with 22 kHz). Way easier to get another dish for D2 and leave Sky's property intact.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I don't see why. The set-up I have works fine for me and an extra dish seems a bit like overkill. D2 is close enough to D1 in the sky and has a strong enough signal that a second LNB mounted at the right offset will provide good reception. This doesn't hurt Sky's property in any way and can be easily removed. However, I am aware that Spyware knows more about this than I do so if he says that is how it should be done, he must have a good reason. Maybe he can explain it in more detail.

Floydbloke: You are seeing presets on your receiver that are not actually receiving anything. You don't get anything on D2 because you don't have anything connected that can receive it.

Yep.  Sky's Dual LNB points at 156 (Optus D3) and 160 (Optus D1).  You need another LNB pointing at 152 for Optus D2.  A modified bracket holding an additional LNB will do the job.

There is a website somewhere I remember seeing with all this kind of stuff.  Somebody on GZ will know where it is ... maybe APSATTV?

Forgot to mention, I don't know what decoder/receiver you are using, but if it can scan D2 transponders, which looks like the case, you don't even have to buy another one. All you need in that case is the LNB and DiSEqC switch.

...and someone to do the install wink.

The decoder is a DishTV S7090PVR.

I can see if my friend is available if you wish. Where are you located? I also advise having someone knowledgeable help you purchase the bits you need. The brackets are not a problem, but you need to make sure you get the right LNB and one or two other technical questions may pop up.

quote(Yep.  Sky's Dual LNB points at 152 (Optus D3) and 160 (Optus D1).  You need another LNB in the middle pointing at 156 for Optus D2.)

With all due respect the Sky Dual LNB has a 4 degree offset throat which targets Optus C1/D3 (156 deg E) which share the same orbital slot. Optus C1/D3 is a Sky fall-back option should D1 fail, as happened a few years ago.

Optus D2, the present carrier for BVN is at 152 Deg east, 8 degrees seperation and very doable on a sky dish. However in floydblokes case the dual lnb is not conducive to bracket addons for a second lnb using off the shelf products.

Removing the sky lnb and replacing with a pre-wired assembled bracket complete with switch and 2 lnbs would be my suggestion.

The receiver can be pre-programmed in advance accept the new arrangement.

I'm in Whitby (Porirua, north of Wellington).  I think you mentioned in an earlier post that your friend is based in Hawke's Bay so maybe I'll just have a trawl through the yellow pages.

Starting to wonder if it's worth it though for a couple of hours worth of coverage a week.  I'm also just trialling unotelly DNS and I can stream the show from NOS.NL at good speed at a reasonable resolution.  Maybe that's the easier way to go.

Thanks for your help everyone, it's been quite an education.
