They stream them on their website, they probably cost very little to run they are just video clips off a server, very recycled

I can't speak for Freeview or Digital Channels, my opinion is these channels will be gone as Breeze and The Edge are Mediaworks brands and not Discovery's (which transmission is currently operated under) as MediaWorks moves fully away from TV and focus on ROVA and the radio brands. TBH a great move as they are now fully investing in the radio brands.
My thoughts on all this:
Rush channel from what I've read about, which isn't a lot, sounds a lot like Discovery Turbo on Sky. I suspect the Discovery Turbo may not be around for a lot longer. It also raises questions about the other Discovery content on Sky.
When Discovery purchased TV3, that's all they acquired from Mediaworks, at least that is my understanding.
I'm guessing with Mediaworks & Discovery\TV3 being totally (?) separate now, the simulcasting we've had may cease, e.g. AM Show. The AM show, as an example is screened on TV3, and simulcast on Magic Talk. There was a news item the other week saying Tova O'Brien is going to host a new breakfast\morning show on Mediaworks. I'm guessing that would be Magic Talk, which would mean no more simulcasting of that. They TV3, have said the AM show will have a new format.

Discovery got Three, Bravo and the plus 1 channels. They already owned Choice and HGTV.

The transaction between Mediaworks and Discovery included Newshub. Recently Mediaworks have ended the contract to procure the radio simulcast of the AM show, as well as radio news bulletins. So, this is pretty much a total decoupling of the radio and TV assets.
Magic Talk has been surrounded by controversy because it was intended to take the right wing baby boomer audience off NZME's talk station, but at times the right wing shock jocks on Magic Talk have overreached and damaged the brand. In response to that Mediaworks are ditching Magic Talk and launching a new talk radio brand along with an independent newsroom next year.
With big names like Tova, Lloyd and Duncan the new product offering is really exciting, but it remains to be seen how they will make it commercially viable given that other media companies have been downsizing and consolidating their newsrooms in recent years.

Edit: Gusto is replacing Choice TV
I watch a little bit of content on Choice. I'm hoping that the content is still available somewhere...perhaps on these new channels
Choice used to be a good channel mid year, but it's slipped closing to Xmas. Reading about their upcoming content, I'm glad we've got both Netflix and Acorn subscriptions.
Apparently Discovery has changed the name of Gusto to "Eden" before it has even launched. 🤣

According to these guys, TVNZ forced them to change the name as it was the same as the Canadian Food channel, Gusto which was available on TVNZ OnDemand.
It did seem a bit strange for Discovery to use Gusto as it may have caused some confusion.
Is there any new information on when and what these channels will be?

Also, the New Eden Channels colour scheme reminds me of the Edge. Awkward if MediaWorks makes them change it again.
Anyone seen an update on launch date? Looking atleast a week out I can't see any changes at this stage.
Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.
Flippikat: Launch date: Monday 21 March 2022

Can confirm. Saw the ad for Eden on TV3 quoting the 21st March
Interestingly, there is some Discovery+ content on ThreeOnDemand already. Richard Hammond's workshop for one.

It's also airing on Choice TV, so I think they're just treating it the same as other Discovery originated content.
The source distribution feed on Intelsat 19 Cband, have been added since last week The Gusto TV and Gusto TV+1 changed named to Eden and they added Rush TV today also.
I can't scan Optus D1 to see if they are up yet. As my gear is packed away for my house move.
And Rush will be in glorious standard definition. Obviously not worth Kordia's fee to upgrade.
