No idea, sorry. I was sent that as a PDF with the press release. No links to any online source.

@freitasm ... thanks anyway.  I copied it as .jpg ... ideal to print off for some friends I have in retirement homes 😁

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Email feedback from Freeview:

Yes we can confirm all new channels will be available via both UHF and Satellite.

😀

Not sure about Anyone else but I move the channels and automatically put the +1s at the end before music.

You get normal tv, and if you want +1 its not right beside them when using +/-

This move helps do it without the channel editor.

Depends on your TV set etc. Some refresh back to the default LCN layout everytime Freeview pushes an update.

It probably has been asked before but are the new channels Eden and Rush going to be in HD?

And if yes will it be HD both for terrestrial and satellite reception?

Thanks 🙂

Terrestrial: Eden in HD, Rush & Eden +1 in SD

Satellite: I assume all in SD.. I think Freeview still haven't made that switch, sadly.

Freeview satellite will remain in SD even with switch to new sat in 2024.

I really wish that with these new channels that they would at least switch to the H.264 codec, perhaps for the +1 channels. It might help to provide feedback on jut how many MPEG-2 only decoders are still out there.

What would happen if you are watching one of the channels that is closing down or moving at the time of the switchover?

The program will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable ... (apologies to Douglas Adams).

Hopefully the word 'new' doesn't exclude Al Jazeera, as it's an existing channel.

Less than 24 hours to find out.

The response I received from Freeview was to a more encompassing question about Satellite channels to expect.

BUT... I have just found a freshly added foot note on the Freeview guide to the new channels:

Some channel availability is subject to how you tune in:  Al Jazeera English is not available via satellite, so if you're tuned in using a satellite dish, the channel change for Al Jazeera English doesn't apply. 'Plus 1' channels are not available as live streams, so if you're streaming Freeview channels on a SmartVU, eden+1 and the 'Plus 1' channel movements don't apply.

I'm sure I saw a change channel promo on HGTV last nite that said that they were going to be on FV Ch 21 and Sky 21   though previous promos said that they were going to be on FV CH 19..  CH 21 on both makes more sense.
