Thanks for the tips. I'll keep working through my EBSpro issues, as I'd definitely like to be able to do some blind scanning etc on windows. However, it seems the bulk of the problem seemed to be a bad USB cable! Switching out the cable (and using the Linux driver + TVheadend) seems to have solved my problem.

At risk of diverting the thread, where did you get the USB tuner.

I'm thinking of doing something similar. I have a spare Raspberry Pi 3B and a dish, so if I could get a tuner working in TVHeadend I could use the Pi to emulate a HDHomerun, and view TV over the network. But USB S2 tuners seem to be unobtanium at the moment, with tuners that were easy to find like the Hauppauge Nova S2 now seeming almost impossible to find.

Did it come with a power supply or where did you pick one up?

It came with a two part power supply, a DC brick and an American C7 cable, so I was just able to switch it to a NZ C7 cable and it worked fine.

I have a couple of DVB-S2s around , free to a good home. Used the AverMedia unit 7 odd years ago when I lived outside of Auckland terrestrial .

1) HD-star. unused, new in box ... CD, dodgy wall wart, etc.

2) AverMedia R889. was used in WMC.

Takers?
