It happened during Scrubs and Lost last night. At about 8.06pm, 8.27pm, and 8.48pm that I noticed. 21mins apart it seems to be.

Another one for Dunedin here, have only noticed it on TV2 (Vantage HD6000T)

So its happening to TVs with built in DVB-T, approved & non approved box's.

Has anyone contacted FreeView about it?

The picture that canz posted on the 12th is similar to what I have seen occasionally on TV1 recently.
It was doing it last night every once in a while.
I have a Zinwell and its been very stable. Just notice an occasional blip on the bottom third of the screen from time to time. Others in the household reckon they dont even see it.
Cant say that I have noticed it at all on tv3. TVNZ problem maybe?

Yeah, i'm guessing that's the case. We watched TV3 & C4 last night and didn't have any issues all night. Yet on wednesday the pic kept on breaking up every 1/2 hour or so on TV2 during Lost, Chuck & Sarah Connor Chronicles

Just got this back from Freeview...

Hi Aaron,

TVNZ is currently undertaking internal testing relating to the planned introduction of new services, and regrets the variation to your viewing experience that you have reported. This testing will continue for some time however whilst TVNZ determines the optimum set of configuration parameters relevant to its new mix of services.

I'm not quite sure what you are expecting?

Compared to Sky digital TV, the quality is superb! Freeview have responded and advised you that your experience is due to quality control issues due to their testing of additional channels - that does not warrant a comment such as the one you made. They have acknowledged in another post (to somebody else that had nothing better to do than complain) that this is short term. 

Now if we lived in the States and had to put up with the bandwidth limitations of satelitte HD broadcasts that they have introduced there, then I would support your juvenile (or at best uneducated) comments - but Freeview HD is doing a good job introducing HD quality TV in those areas that can receive it.

Move on and have a little patience.

I don't think this is correct. That is word for word what they are sending out for complaints about the DVB-S service which they are testing on. However the efffect of that is that the picture looks like it is from Sky (in compressed to hell). It does not cause momentary pixialtion.

I am sure what we are all seeing is a fault NOT them testing.

whoa there big fella, how about you get off that hobby horse of yours!!!!
if you don't have something constructive to write don't write anything. this forum isn't for you to attack people with views that may be different from yours!!!!!
anyway, it was just an ironic comment. look at any freeview ad and they say 'make bad reception a thing of the past". it sure isn't in the past for a lot of people.

That's what I thought when I first read it. But I did state that it was on their HD service and provide a link to this thread. So I assumed that TVNZ were doing similar testing on freeviewHD.

I think it has just got lost in the mass of complaints with what they are doing on DVB-S. I might log a call and be at pains to make sure they realise this is DVB-T not DVB-S.

They may be doing something with DVB-T but I cant quite see why. For DVB-S it is them trying to squeeze regional ads onto the bandwidth they have. I would not have thought that would be an issue for DVB-T as they can just send the regional feed to the local transmission sites.

Actually I was watching tv3 last night as well and noticed a couple of blips. I think that it was at the end of rove now that I think about it. That particular break up was a bit heavier than the other little flashes I noticed on tvnz and a couple of smaller ones on tv3 last night.


Its not too annoying, but would be good if they sorted it out.

PS There were comments posted elsewehere mentioning the TVNZ were fiddling with bandwidth on DVB-S recently affecting the picture quality. I have the suspicion that they just passed that template response back when questions about DVB-T cropped up - could be wrong though - maybe they are tinkering with both systems.
