Like I mentioned try DVRNSToolbox - this has a couple of options which may let you repackage them into WTV container, without needing to re-encode them. If it works it should only take 3-4 minutes for each file.
.WTV is just a container, so it will effectively just re present the video and audio streams to media center in a format that it understands. No conversion/re-encoding will need to take place. If you get it working, there's also some options to convert whole directories etc etc etc. Hack7mc.com has some good articles on this.
If that doesn't work you may be able to convert them to MKV, which once again is just a container, so once again you should'nt need to do any re-encoding.
burtz: Yes, I guess the hint I missed was Bernd trying to play .ts files, when windows 7 media centre uses .wtv format.
I have Windows 7 MC working perfectly too with no additional codecs - even streams to my popcorn hour with sound on every channel! WAF through the roof, as long as she doesn't ask to watch live TV off the popcorn - only DVB viewer allowed that lol...but we were restricted to AC3 from TV3
Sorry for a bit of cross thread jacking but I have a similar setup, HTPC with DVB-T with a Popcorn Hour in the bedroom and I couldn't get it to play any of the WTV recordings.
Burtz, what are you doing to "stream" to your PCH?
I tried Mediaportal as the PCH supports the .TS files but doesn't support the HE-AAC audio codec so I am now running VLC over each recording to change the audio format to AC3 to allow me to watch recordings in the bedroom on the PCH.
