I Also have the 46 inch samsung played with all the features and like a lot of people think it is a good try to play the media files. I Have finally given up with waiting for firmware upgrades to fix files not playing and dual sound track issues subtitle issues etc. and bought a playon!HD available from computer dynamics in nz. It plays everything it is based on open source and will soon have the YAMJ available.
It can run with an internal or external usb hard drive. works with all my home theatres and runs 1080p 24hz like a dream.
I watched planet earth on it at 1080p It was like being there.
Now no longer required.
HTPC emergencies only.
Mediagate 350HD sold on trade me
Mediagate25 sold on trade me
xbox (xbmc) about to be sold when YAMJ is released.

Can anyone please provide details on how and where you download these firmware updates and how you apply them?

Thanks,
Andrew

Goto www.samsung.co.nz find your TV model.

Click on support & downloads, then firmware.

Download the PDF guide on hwo to upgrade, and check your firmware. Should be straight forward once you have the pdf guide.

But don't expect to find any release notes...samsung are useless and don't provide them.
