I have twin 10750's on the way which might suit your purpose even better, as these are not Universal's, as opposed to the MTI. Should be here in 2 weeks so will keep you posted once I do some testing.
My multiswitch arrived today! Have yet to test it because it has an American power plug but once I get an adaptor (yes the PS is 100-250V @50-60Hz) I'm sure it will do the trick nicely. The manual says that the voltage on each satellite input is fixed at either 13V or 18V but that 22kHz can be switched on or off via a little toggle switch which means it should be compatible with most LNBs. Speaking of LNBs, I'll be looking to buy LNBs in the next week or two.
@kiwisat Definitely let me know how the 10750 twin standard LNBs go for you. I'm particularly interested to know whether you could mount three on a single dish to receive D1, D2 and C1/D3. Many of the twin LNBs that I have seen photos of look like they might not be able to fit that close together (with correct skew at 4deg separation) and dtvs seemed to imply this was a problem. I'd also appreciate it if you could PM me with an approximate price.
What size of dish are you intending to use with this setup as that will pretty much determine if you can get all 3 birds? I would personally use about 80cm and a good one at that. The skew for the 3 sats you mention is not a big issue as they are similar, but Intelsat 8Ku is not.

Well I've tried out the multiswitch and the results are a bit of a mixed bag...
Terrestrial/analog TV seems to work okay as long as the unit is working in active mode with the UHF aerial input attenuation at minimum. I think the analog TV quality is marginally down on what it was before putting the unit in, but I guess that is to be expected given we're now splitting 8 way instead of 4. FM radio seems to work slightly better...
As for satellite: there's some issues for the computer although the FTA STB is fine. For testing purposes I've plugged our existing LNB into the first LNB input which allows the switch to deliver vpol signals from D2 to any of the 8 outputs. On the computer, one of the transponders (12546) is consistently untunable and another 2 (12706, 12734) are lower than they used to be on the signal strength measurement (MediaPortal tuning). Also, the 12644 transponder can only be tuned if you change the tuning parameters to 12646 (Weird! Maybe signal strength is borderline?). When I try daisy chaining the computer off the STB's line out like it used to be (leaving the STB connected through the splitter) the computer signal strength on 706 and 734 seems to improve marginally but 546 is still completely untunable and 644 must be tuned as 646. When I go back to the original satellite setup (LNB connected directly to STB, computer connected to line out of STB) the 12546 transponder can be tuned again but the 12706 transponder is now untunable!

sounds very much like low signal, really. Do you have a meter to check with, or an inline amp? Ive found my pc sat card a lot more picky about signal strength than STBs have been.
Thanks for your thoughts Etacovda. I concur with your observation about computers vs. STBs/TVs. I also agree that signal strength is probably the issue. The thing that gets me is the untuneable transponder thing - why *can't* I tune 706 when the computer is daisy chained (where I could before) and why *can* I tune it when the computer is fed from the multi-switch (and vice-versa for 546, although maybe this one is more understandable)!
Unfortunately I don't have a meter. As far as amps/splitters go, all I have is the powered multi-switch mentioned above, a passive 4 way Hills splitter and a 2 way Kingray splitter/amplifier (sa182) "optimised for both digital and analogue TV signal amplification" (I have found it to be unsuitable for satellite signals even though it has f-type inputs and outputs).
