Can you eyeball the LNB on the dish and describe it for us. For example, does the white cap facing the dish appear circular or oval and does the body of the LNB resemble a bullet shape or does it have a square box coming off at a right angle to the LNB. It is important to run the cable from the dish directly to the STB and take the Sky box totally out of the equation. The fact that no legitimate V pol signals are being received/scanned is puzzling although most Freeview approved boxes do not allow SBS and feeds.
I am in Auckland and available to assist if required.
It definately sounds like either the skew of your LNB needs adjusting - (in some instances Sky will operate off an LNB but Freeview wont) or you have got the wrong settings in your receiver for the local oscillation (L.O.) of your LNB (I think that's what grolschie means too, and that's why kiwisat is trying to find out what sort of LNB you have). The settings in your receiver should be, for "type" = "single" or "normal" (or something like that - not universal !) and the L.O. should be 11300 or 10750 depending on what LNB you have got.
