The aerial was apparently already pointing at Haywards Tower. The installer increased the height of the pole which has improved the signal strength.

The UHF signal strength was not sufficient when the UHF aerial was installed last year - it was only 48% on TV3 and TV 4 during overcast conditions - not enough for a picture.

I did not have the dual Terrestrial Receiver at the time to test the UHF aerial with. Now that I do and found it was not working when overcast I thought the installer would fix it for free but I have been charged for the new pole and labour. Is this fair?

Yes, they have done work so should be paid for it.

Hello Richms, if the work done before was not up to standard because the signal was bad when overcast, isn't it then a simple matter of returning to put it right?

Most installers would do that I think especially if they guarantee their work.
