No, Sommet Sports is terrestrial only at this stage.

Nope Dan as the Sky system is DVB-S (sat) and this is DVB-T (over the air).

The quality of the picture seems to relate to the source; sometimes better than others - some of the AFL games have been quite good.. What I am enjoying is the lack of boxiness or pixelisation that bugs me on other channels. Also the logo on the top right hand corner on the Omnisport news this morning was translucent - not the solid colour on the earlier (I assume recorded) programmes.

Needed to rescan on my Panasonic. Logo is way to bright. If they want to have a large uptake I would have thought making sure people do not need to rescan would be critical. Hopefully it is just because it is early days. Picture quality looked average for the MotoGP but I did not watch it for long.

A big thank you to Sommet for taking this on and bringing some free viewing of sport back to the public. I really hope they do well. A special request just for me - can you get the breakers on please?

No rescan needed on any of my FV devices.

Yes that bug is too bright and too opaque.

a few NBA basketball games too please (though i usually subscribe to NBA TV) and the FIBA world championships next year.. thanks Sommet!

From memory yes but it's not normally shown on ESPN in NZ so maybe Sommet can do a deal with ESPN /abc TV..

I just watch so of the surfing & the picture for it was what I would describe as good... so I now have hope again ;)

I do hope the EPG will get some attention at some stage (hopefully not too far off) as the lack of description for most of what's on it a tad of a problem when you don't know the sport the title is referring too (as in what the sport actually is).

from memory all of the college stuff is on espn3 with some games shown on espn too.

Can someone summarise what we know about the MHEG5 "requirement"?

I'm concerned that "going forward" I won't be able to use my TiVo according to Sommet.

If they want to run ads during broadcast why can't this be done to the live feed? Isn't that what already happens if a broadcaster chooses to?
