Hmm... Ok I got myself confused with comments from the A2 discussion and the Smart Vu X discussion... Sorry!

I have to apply 1.35 but will do so tonight. I can confirm the small glitching in live TV audio/video has still been happening in 1.34. It's really annoying and I hope this patch sorts it.

Hi,

Did it fix your audio glitches?  i've had issues since day one with that.

Hi to you too 😉

Umm... not sure as yet, suspect not, but it's less than a day and I should give it a few days to see.

I usually notice it in the evenings watching TNVZ news on TV1 ... just little but consistently inconstant little jumps in audio and video, almost like a 1/3 of a second when it has been happening... enough to notice that a spoken word seems a bit mangled...

I'll report back in a few days.

Has anyone noticed that regardless of setting it to show 1080p 60 MHz, it always reverts to 1080i 50 MHz after a restart?

I have just set mine to Auto adaption and restarted and still on 4K...It was on 1080i prior - but had not checked since last update couple of days ago.

I've set mine to auto - it switched to 3840x2160 50 MHz (4K).

I had it at 1080p because Freeview is no more than that and the only source of 4K content would be Netflix - which is not available on the box (we don't use Google Play movies much as the Fire TV with an Amazon US account has a lot of newer movies than Google Play).

Anyone noticed live TV no longer pause when you go searching On Demand - and if you start an On Demand stream the box actually play both audio from live TV and the streaming program?

I've also seen this when using Kodi.  You can get the sound from live TV and the kodi movie or whatever playing together,

Recording problems.

I changed my satellite dish and had to do a rescan. After that had two of some channels in the guide. I “fixed” that by changing my signal source from sat to uhf then back again..

Now I have a problem in that it seems to remember my previous scheduled recording schedule even tho none show. So now when I try to record it says there is a timing conflict and offers me the option to delete one of the conflicts. However none show.

Any ideas on how I fix this? (aside from a total reset)

Cheers

To answer my own question.......

Unplugging from the power for a couple of minutes then restarting has cleared the problems.

So is this the best option in this price range? or is still an expensive beta test with a lot of promise for the future?

I'm not looking for a lot of bells and whistles just multi channel recording I can trust to work.

If not, what other options around this price are there?, I'm not afraid to roll the sleeves up to make something work as long as the wife acceptance factor is high ;-)
