Hi Josh,

No problems so far new 2200 quite impressed, like the lan remote, what is the best format for a hard drive with media files for playback, 1tb Seagate ntfs device not recognised, reformatted exfat still no luck. Does the box have to be rebooted to recognise hd. also best format for dlna server over 1000 movies only found 6, does it check subfolders?

Thanks Gary

Hi Gary,

I've had no problems with DLNA/UPnP at all, I have 3 server devices, a PC running Plex Media Server, a WD MyBookLiveDuo NAS and a Linux-based music server, all of which behave just fine with the T2200 - can see and access all objects (folders, movies, pictures, ...) Had to define a new profile on the Plex server though to transcode movies with DTS soundtracks into AC3 as the T2200 cannot handle DTS audio, but otherwise all worked out of the box.

What are you using as the DLNA server in your setup, as it is possibly a deficiency of that device/software that is causing you only to see 6 movies?  If not then which of your movie formats are seen by the T2200 and which are not - maybe I can see if I have any in my library to test?

Cheers,

Mark

I run serviio as my DLNA server and no issues either with whats beeing served up. I have specified the location of all my files and it includes all the subfolders. works with both music and videos.

@hfkiwi i might try the whole transcode thing on serviio as the only files its had issues with have been MKV and only the audio.

I've a win10 pc with with media streaming turned on, formats: iso, mp4, video ts, m4v, mkv,  avi. files, can't understand why ony a few out of nearly 1000 show up. Thought I could transfer them to a USB drive, but 2200 won't recognise my drive as NTFS or EXFat.

Can you play files from a USB drive?

Thanks

Gary

@gazzerwgtn no issues with a USB3 stick formatted in FAT32 finding all the folders and files on the drive. no issues playing them either.

@joshhill96 another bug/issue, i have time shift set, and when i go to media manager and either USB or Upnp watch something then go back to tv it starts playing the shifted program from the beginning, why does it do this? should it not go back to live tv and just remember its being recorded, and if you want to watch what you missed you rewind?

Fat32 format only works on 32gig or less drives, I seem to remember a way of formatting larger drives to fat32

Just tried a 1tb western digital portable HDD (no power) formatted in FAT32 worked fine.

also tried a Western Digital 2tb hard drive (powered) formatted in NTFS and worked fine, took about 30 seconds to load up.

Copied files to USB stick and they work, my usb hard drives don't, maybe they need to be powered hard drives?
