Oh yes, sorry, didn't even see that. Guess its time to start a thread about recommended opticians then......

So with freeview over sat the signal is only SD. Does that apply to channels 1-4 as well ?

Another question, when it says up scaling does this mean the STB up scales the SD to Something near HD...

Yes, all channels are SD. While up-scaling will look a little better, it can't recreate what isn't there so will never look as good as HD.

Great. Welcome to living in rural NZ.

Thanks confirmed what i thought. Monopoly from $ky and lack of interest from broadcasters.

Yes, all Freeview Satellite channels are offered in SD, you will need to pressure TVNZ, Mediaworks and SKY to unlock the HD versions of the FTA channels.

Yes although the native content is not HD, the S8200 helps reduce the grain and makes watching the SD Channels a lot better on HD TVs

Josh, when you say the 'imanual is built in' can you read that and be trying things out at the same time?
If not, can you get the manual as a pdf or hard copy ?

No you can only view the iManual one at time, yes there will be PDFs available on our website, I'm getting them done ready by the end of the week (There has been a a lot of things happening including processing manuals for Australia too)

I'll post a reply when PDF should be available

That's interesting..  if they're being marketed in Aussie, they won't have NZ Freeview crippling.  So can we get our much-needed time skip function back somehow ?

Sorry, The Satellite unit will not be marketed in Aus, The T2100 and PVRs are both active in Australia and New Zealand freeview markets.

P.S buckled down for an hour doing the manual :-) No time machine used.
