DaveB:

Hi-Def or last century's style SD?

I'm going to say High Def, TVNZ has the resources to do this properly, I mean Sport in SD is a little mean (I am feeling for the Aussies with their HD FTA law. most of their sports are on the mainstream channel which has to be in SD until recently)

Bet this doesn't hit satellite for the rest of us peons who don't get reception of this channel already.

If it's the same content as 7mate, I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't hit satellite.  I'd like some good American hunting shows though, like the one with Ted Nugent who guns down hundreds of wild pigs from a helicopter with a machine gun.  Sky is already full of the same kind of garbage shows as 7mate.

It will replace the Sport Pop Up channel. which is already on Satellite

The channel will have the sport on the Pop Up within the schedules of the new channel. Other programming will work around the sports offering.

I wonder if TVNZ will pick up the local rights to the new Clarkson, Hammond and May Motor TV show from Amazon premiere on the TV channel and TVNZ Ondemand. or a fight with Lightbox.

I'll be interested if this "male skewed" lineup might actually be something I will enjoy - some decent sci-fi, comedy, DIY, sport, music. Not all of us girls only watch cooking and chat shows ;o)

Do skewed males end up on a skewer? Shishkabob for cannibals? I might watch that.
