Free To Air channel launched by TVNZ will aim at the Male Demographic, likely to utilise the TVNZ Pop Up channel sitting on Freeview.

LOL, I checked to see if it was April 1.  Anyone think the standard of PR writing has fallen?  Maybe the students are in for the hols.

"Male skewed"... Does it mean they have rights to broadcast rugby live, away from Sky with beer ads all day long?

"aimed at the Male Demographic,"

Is this just code for reruns of Top Gear, along with hunting and fishing shows.

I suspect the proliferation of cooking shows has caused a drop in male TV viewers, and subsequently male orientated advertising, which TVNZ would like to get back..

I think the lineup will be similar to this from 7Mate in Australia: https://au.tv.yahoo.com/plus7/browse/channel/7mate/

Quoting TVNZ Chief Executive Kevin Kenrick:

“We know advertisers are seeking commercial solutions that address audience fragmentation and embrace viewers’ multi-screening behaviour. We’re developing an integrated media buy across on air and online that makes it easier to connect with audiences.”

Lost in translation  smile
