darthmeow:

I'm going with "Proper TV"

Sports that "most kiwis" will want (All Blacks, Black Caps, F1, V8 Supercars) all live (unless there's a clash then obviously some delay coverage may be nessecary)
Modern GOOD saturday morning cartoons for the kids
The best shows from Netflix A-Prime etc
Good selection of documentaries, nature science history etc

And in HD. It's 2017 damnit!

Got a spare half billion each year to fund that? :)

Call it RNZ Plus.

It will have hourly news bulletins, plenty of international news from ABC,BBC etc. Also current affairs and documentaries and possibly some drama.

That may actually happen under Labour. :)

And for my suggestions:

SOAPNET

Put Things like Coro and Emmerdale in Prime Time 5 nights or more a week so there are no more complaints from fans and there is now broadcast room to catch up with overseas.

Include soaps that are only available on demand or not at all, also classic repeats of Shortland Street and Gloss etc.

Could also add classic night soaps such as Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon's Crest ad Knots Landing.

SUPERHEROES NETWORK:

Put on the stuff that was on Duke until recently from the DC world, plus the Marvel world, plus the classic stuff such and "Lois & Clark" plus classic superhero movies etc etc.

I would love a documentary type channel, with 60% of it being NZ and Pacific related with the rest overseas documentatries, under the RNZ umbrella "RNZ Doc" "RNZ Documentary"
