ockel: As someone who has posed similar questions to Mr Impey in the past I can understand that some people could perceive his responses as short, terse or even flippant.
I can assure you that he treats every question on its merits but he does expect people to take the time to be fully informed and consider all issues (so if there is an obvious answer to a generic question then thats what you'll get back).

And as was mentioned by ZollyMonsta a lot of these areas are commercially sensitive - especially in an environment where your largest competitor is subsidised (and owned) by the Government.

Importantly this is the first interview that I can recall since the Ironbridge transaction and I can assure you that many people have been interested in hearing his views but been unable to get access to him.  And these are clearly answered by Mr Impey rather than being handled by someone else within Mediaworks.  So I think hats off to Mauricio for organising a coup.

while your comments do hold some merit, the answers above seemed sa if each character spoken was costing him money. Its not hard to expand on an otherwise 'boaring' answer. Comming from a media background he should know what is appealing to readers. I was totally board after reading his third answer as I knew what the tone of the rest would be.

thanks Mauricio for sorting that, interesting ready.  Though short, his answers did provide some insight on where Mediaworks wish to head.

Any chance of getting someting similar with John Fellet?

If it was a face to face interview there would be much more of an actual interview. They were just questions, which he answered...

While his answers may seem short and perhaps cagey, I have to say that Brent Impey is good in that he makes himself available and responds to questions quickly - in my experience at least.

I have to say I agree that his responses were disappointing. No only in their brevity but also in the fact that we must live with the reality of being a very small country.
But lets face it. This +1 channel is silly. I was in the UK a couple of years ago and sometimes found it useful there - but that was when freeview PVR's were unheard of. When the technology becomes seriously affordable here, the concept of a +1 will be outdated. None of these broadcasters seemed to have figured out that content is king and schedules are neither here nor there.I suppose to be fair Sky does understand that given that is their marketing strategy. And then if we get super fast broadband here in a few years they really are going to look daft with their +1 channel. It will be interesting to see how it all develops though.
