PS3's PlayTV displaying on a 40in Bravia KLV40S400A, and optical out to an Onkyo 5.1 DTS system.
I may have to upgrade the PS3's HD at some stage due to the small 120Gb drive... and I haven't the heart to delete any of The Pacific episodes in all it's HD glory from it :)
This would be a great addition to our 52" LCD. Currently we are having to record onto a VCR in our bedroom and then we play it back on the LCD. Only problem is that the picture is no where near as good as on the TV which is a shame.
With this prize we would be able to record in HD and then view in HD WOW what a difference that would make to our viewing pleasure.
I currently have My Sky HDI and a CRT TV (I blame my partner for that lol), but planning on getting a 42 inch HD LCD within the next month or so. Magic TV would be a pretty neat device to have, especially with decent hard drive space and HD
We have a 20" Panasonic CRT with a AWA DVD player. The Panasonic Video recorder died a few months ago so if we arn't home we miss our favourite programs. Would love to get control of our viewing again with a Magic TV
Currently have a very basic setup of a 32" LCD with a DishTV Freeview box, as well as an Xbox 360. All I need to do it win this and get myself a decent TV and it'll be great! =P
I have a recently acquired 41inch rear screen Sony projection TV. I had to go out and buy a new UHF/VHF aerial. The reception is ok. TV One has a few reception problems, so a new Freeview set would improve this no end I am sure. Also the added channels (which I have never seen) would be an added bonus.
Ok, this prize is ideally for my mum who lives in a caravan and gets very poor reception with old analogue TV. I set up the external aerial for her... it is not the greatest because the aerial is UHF only and ideal for Freeview but we haven't managed the purchase of a Freeview HD box yet. This would be the ideal birthday present she didn't get this year.... sorry mom! Better late than never. She would really enjoy docos on TVNZ6 and TVNZ7.... oh and crystal clear TV programs!!
My system is: 32" Panasonic Viera 720p TV Extra Terrestrial FreeviewHD box Pioneer DVD recorder 80Gb NAD receiver 5.1ch Mission speakers
21" CRT TV, 2nd hand HDD/DVD recorder, VHS (so we can tape two channels at once), 2nd DVD player (for zooming widescreen DVDs), stereo - laptop gets plugged into the setup for watching movies from
Sony Bravia KDL-32V4000 (has analog tuner + Freeview) Philips DVDR3600 Player/Recorder (has inbuilt analog tuner) JVC VCR (has analog tuner)
JVC accesses old tapes, Philips allows DVDs, and .avi files from USB key or external H/D... but... feeling lack of decent recording for TV One News/Weather: JVC would do it, known convenient programming, but inadequate antenna on rented premises, Philips would do it either fron its own tuner or from Bravia's analog tuner, but again inadequate antenna (no output from Freeview of Bravia), plus convoluted programming method... Would welcome a better recorder, particularly as we may possibly be having care of grandkids full time.
I currently have my 21" and get no reception for tv1 unless it rains :S so getting one of these would be great as having freeview seems to work but not through the tv :(
I would love to have this next to my 360 in my room so heres hoping
I have a 42' samsung plasma tv with built in freeview. And a panasonic surround sound system. And I am still rocking a VHS recorder which is why I need a dvr but I'm a student and can't afford one.
Okay - this prize would be no use to me. I have (had) a little wee 32 inch Samsung tellie, that I love to bits, but unfortunately died a week ago. The repair guy came today, and took it away for a while so I'm not sure when or if I will see it again. I'm reduced to what seems like the 7inch CRT in the bedroom, that has me, the wife, kids and cat squeezing around it and fighting for the remote
It was connected to a PS3 - movies / music streaming only with no games in the house, a gorgeous Harman Kardon AVR255 amp, and yammie speakers.
So without a tellie, nothing now works very well at all, and adding one of these babies wouldn't help alot. However it would cheer me up a little while I mourn the severe degradation of functionality from my HT system, and if and when the tellie returns from it's sojourn in the tellie hospital it would fit into my system very nicely
