DjShadow: @xpd where are you trying to receive the signal from?

From ? As in which tower or where am I located ?

Sorry, what tower?

Looking at this , Pinehill is closest but on wrong side of the peninsula to where I am.

Still nothing in Wellington CBD, Aro Street :(

Wtgn CBD has freeview HD....

Which part of Aro st are you in? Can you get normal tv3, prime etc using a normal aerial? If you can get Maori TV reasonably, then you will be able to get Freeview HD.

Do you even have an aerial? You should have 2, one skinny long one (uhf) and one big wide one (vhf).

Maybe you need to call a contractor such as aerial master, or an electrician.

Between Epuni and Durham Str, called the contractor, he sad, sorry, not this time.

Youve got 5 transmitters in Wellington, Fitzherbert should cover you , have a look at the coverage map

Give City aerials a ring, They are probably the biggest contractors in welly and will look after you

Off Topic

Yhose TC boxes sound very buggy, with screen freezes and laggy channel changes, let me know how it goes

Its already about 4 weeks and to be honest it does run ok without any problems, plus its recording 6-7 programs every week and found no issues. And I was surprised very much when I ordered the box (its was Tuesday) and got it on Thursday, it was quick and professional service, well done TC, but I'm 10+ years TC client :)

DjShadow, JDA has a network of transmitters around the country. TV3/Four Transmits on analogue using their towers.

I wish they gave the contract to kordia for Wairarapa, as Freeview HD will be transmitted from a different point that half of all the areals are pointing at. *Sigh*

Just had an update for Whangarei.
Testing is currently happening so the signal is on and at full power intermittantly.
They expect to be fully operational in 2-3 weeks.
Apparently they are having mains power issues so it is taking longer than expected.

If you are ready to receive it then you could try doing a scan and see what happens.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

Aro Valley is one bit deadspot. There is a translator there for existing VHF but no hope of ever getting a signal from Kaukau.
