It comes with Component, composite, an aerial cable & power. HDMI is sold separately, but they just gave it to me for free which was nice of them.

If anyone's sitting on the fence about buying one of these for $199, I'd say hurry in or buy online as I'd bet they'll be back to $299 after this long weekend based on what's happened over the last few weeks. Noel Leeming (sister company to B&B) had them for $199 over the last long weekend and New Years sale then whipped them back up to $299.

The price ticket had the price as valid until somewhere around the 14th of this month I seem to remember.

See the earlier thread in which I said how I got mine for $250 at B&B when both places had them for $299 - of course I'd have been better to have waited two weeks until the price was dropped again! (I checked my docket and it was 10 days since I'd purchased, so was unable to follow up on the 7-day price guarantee).

I'm still keen on the home network purchase - when I have the money - but I too use a Mac so am not looking forward to the set-up; I understand Toast is needed. Is this the case even if one uses alternative software like PiTivo?

Toast isn't required on the Mac but it will make it a lot easier. I just didn't want to spend another $80 or whatever on toast after $90Au on the HNP when it does all this for free under Windows. The Windows software works perfectly in a VM on the Mac though.
After a few days trawling the Internet I have got pyTiVoX running to send video the TiVo and iTiVo to fetch stuff off the TiVo. ITiVo didn't work at first, I had to do some compiling of source code and edit some hidden files so not for the faint hearted!

I went into my local noel leemings store to get one for my bro. Initially they said they would honour the price. But when they rang it up on the till, they said they couldn't honour it. I said they had a best price promise, and they said they would if they could , but their system wouldn't allow it to got through. So had to ring their complaints line, who said they would need to investigate it, as it should have been honoured. Would be interested to know if anyone else had this problem trying to buy it from noel leemings. I will probably get it for the price once the compliant has been investigated, but a hassle, and have to make another special trip to collect it, so hope they throw in an hdmi cable for free.

In a town closeby(25kms or away), but NL is less than 5kms away. I also want the flybuys, which I din't think B&B do. They are both owned by the same company anyway, so it should have been matched. They just said their computers couldn't allow it, but their complaints dept said that they should have put it through anyway.

@Mattwnz I had the same issue until I queried it and a manager came over and keyed past where it wouldn't accept the $199 price.

Yes, I had this problem and have already posted on it here. In my case I gave up on NL and went to B&B as the former didn't know how to reduce it below $299.

So it can be done, but the salesperson just needs to know how to get around it.

Thanks. I did ask to speak to the manager too, but they said that the manager wouldn't be able to help, as it was to do with their computer system, and they wouldn't be able to do anything about it. I did tell them that I as going to have to complain to their head office about it, as I think it is verging on false advertising with their price promise guarantee, but they didn't seem to care. The person I spoke to on the phone on their 0800 number said it was likely just a problem with that particular stores computer system, but it sounds like it was widespread. Anyway I will see what they come up with.

Thanks for that. That then shows that they were aware of this problem last month. That is certainly not good that they haven't fixed their systems.
