Hi All,

I've noticed that the price of TiVo keeps on coming down, you can now get it from Bond & Bond/Noel Leeming for $200.

I need a recorder, so I was looking at it as an option now that it's so stupidly cheap. Is there something going on that I'm not aware of that would make buying the TiVo a bad option?

Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? I'm open to other suggestions, but $200 seems quite a good deal. I realise TiVo doesn't get the EPG for Prime or Maori, but I can put up with that for a saving of around $400 (which is what the nearest competitor seems to cost at the moment).

If this has already been discussed, just link me, I had a bit of a stooge around but I couldn't find anything.

Tivo now has Prime and Maori EPG, it is an absolute steel at $200.

Bought one the other day and it really is a great unit for $199.

price was always going to come down when telecom stepped out of the way and let retailers other than their own shop sell it.

it could also be that they are clearing stock before launching the 1tb tivo here

at the current price it is a steal well worth it. oh you will get the usual end of the world person claiming tivo is about to collapse but those people have been carrying their tivo repent the end is near signs for over a year now. it's well worth the buy.

It's interesting that when I stumbled across it in the store, the price ticket still said NOTE: PRIME program guide is NOT available at this time.

It seems like a great price & it comes with the wireless adapter. I just figured there had to be something I was missing for a price like that.

prime's EPG came to Tivo not long ago, interesting they had that on the box though, wasn't on it when I brought mine, they must of had some complaints.

Quick, go and buy 2 now, it's a great deal, go on-line and buy the home networking package, it will allow tranfer to/from your computer as well.

I've even d/l to my cell phone via the computer shows that have been recorded

dude. you must be rich lol. HNP's are $129 at the online shop in Aussie. The MAK key just unlocks the one and only functionality of transferring shows to and from TiVo.

$116 when converted to $NZ. That is the price though for unlocking all tivos on the network, and it is worth it if you do have a numbe rof tivos, as you can move programs between the different rooms, as well as download onto computer.

I got one at this price after Christmas, and am very happy with it, total bargin at $200 IMO.

I'm wondering if this pricing has something to do with Igloo coming out some time this year. If I remember correctly they said Igloo would be sub-$200.
