Any sign of the other 2 repeaters copys of the channels or do they just have the single one up? I was under the impression that they had to shift some of the analogs around to make room for the digitals on the other sites so it wouldnt suprise me if there is quite a delay in getting the others up and running. I guess sky will have to send installers out to all their UHF customers to retune the boxes. That is once they are all done with the RF outs being trashed and have retuned all those.

Where are you located that you can see the other site, and does your tuner give you strength readings at all?

All of the existing UHF analogue stations moved a couple of weeks ago for Auckland. There is a chance that they have only got part of the equipment installed at the infil site fossie picked up.

The main move was Maori TV, but Sky did move some channels - http://www.rsm.govt.nz/cms/policy-and-planning/current-projects/broadcasting/digital-television-2007-frequency-plan

Just to be sure, 562000 is ch32 off Pinehill, right?

I got confused and tried to find 562000 off Waiatarua last night, and of course nothing was present that I could detect.  Also had trouble finding the TVNZ Waiatarua mux as well for that matter (no problems previously), although that may be because there was no picture?

Lots of changes on the TVNZ mux overnight so you might have had issues getting any sort of a lock.

Hmm quite a few line up changes on all the mux's.

This is a shot from tv1 running a strange feed in 720p. I think my tv app has compressed the image a bit. (click image fr 1280x720)

I saw one of the Zinwell DVB-T boxes yesterday. What surprised me was the fact they apparently have the ICT flag enabled. For those who aren't aware what that is it's the flag that enables/disables 720p content via component. Apparently Freeview will have this enabled so you will only see HD content via HDMI (assuming you have a HDCP compliant TV) and will be limited to 576i via component. There has been a live Maori TV feed on and off in Wgtn recently so it will be interesting to see this on a big TV.

Most broadcasters around the world have not enabled the ICT flag due to the limited numbers of HDCP compliant TV's vs the total number of HD compliant TV's in the marketplace. It will be very interesting if Freeview go down the path of enabling this as most broadcasters overseas don't plan on enabling ICT for quite a few years yet.

That is one of the reasons why when I recently bult my HTPC, I did so ensuring everything was HTCP compliant, and elected to use DVI/HDMI.  It doesn't surprise me - it was all going too well with the sound decisions made by the industry re: format/codec/container choice ... !!

Nice.. Every time i've checked TV1 it is had a blank picture. I'll take another look later today.

Also can you get audio on the TVNZ mux now as they have been messing with the audio settings again.

Could I just get a state of play with what is being broadcast currently.

Scanning TVNZ mux I get good signal strength but GB PVR picks up no channels.

Scanning Mediaworks I get TV3 and C4.  TV3 seems to be playing 1080i loops with no audio.  C4 appears to be playing C4 live 576i with no audio.

Scanning Kordia I get 7 reserved channels (the KSD etc channel identifiers have gone).  Haven't attempted to see if any of those channels are broadcasting anything at this stage.

Can anyone confirm this or clarify please.

Thanks

The network is changing very often, sometimes several times per day with MUX's being switched on and off for testing and different content being played on various channels. By the time somebody lists what's currently on it'll probably change! :-)

Understood.  It has been over a week since I've been able to tune anything off the TVNZ mux.  Is it fair to say that mux has been on and off in the last week, more so than say the Mediaworks mux?  Just trying to establish whether I have some problem with tunning that mux ...
