Update time.
I got a refund from the TBS seller, purchased a new tuner box (TBS 5925) and received it yesterday.
I plugged the unit directly into the satellite feeder cable inside the patch panel, plugged into my laptop and I'm able to scan Freeview 12456, 12483 and randomly Sky 12421 and 12267 (all reporting on their correct frequencies.)
The TVNZ channels on 12483 are a bit skippy but the ones on 12456 seem to play fine.
The Settings I have are:
LOF1: 10750
LOF2: 0 (or 10750 if the program I'm using requires something to be entered)
LOFSW: 65535
I'm still only getting about 20% signal strength and so I wonder if that's why I'm not scanning all of the Sky transponders (including Prime etc on 12519) and if that's because the tuner box I have isn't powerful enough to give the LNB power to scan these? (being in an apartment I'm guessing the LNB is shared between all of us and so signal ins't as strong as it would be if I had a single dish connected straight into the tuner?
We are looking to move in the next month or so, might try to get a separated house to make use of this new tuner.
Did you ever get this going OK?
Might have been the distribution amp in the old building (assuming they had one, not just a splitter) causing the problems
