I thought Freeview restrictions stopped that?

maybe why it doesn't have the FreeView sticker, I can confirm from mine that DLNA server works (note: no transcoding so HE-AAC can be challenging) and the EPG works for the full week (earlier models had a 3 day limit I believe)

You can see in the pictures I just posted that this model does come with the Freeview|HD approval, and the stickers.

The earlier models (DMR-BW850 anyway) EPG is visible with program names and time for just 4 hours ahead. But the timetable itself is visible for the entire 8 days. It does not have the program names visible, only a block with the time of the program. You need to use it in conjunction with a TV Guide.

If you program it to record a "blank block" using the EPG, everything works correctly and it even adds the name of the program to the recording.

Can you read my question on page 2 of this thread, post # 370513, referring to the recording of multiple overlapping programs. I am curious if the BW880 can record (effectively) 4 programs at the same time like the Magic TV, or if it has to have a 1 minute break between programs like the BW850.

Files are native broadcast format. TV3 is generic MPeg so should have no problem. all other are HE-AAC, this is not Panasonic selection, it's how it is broadcast. VLC and XBMC have the codec included and will play sue content. I've not found a standalone HE-AAC codec yet.

WHS (Windows Home Server) is a Windows Connect server, so yes, it's visible to DLNA clients.

I would be keen to know, after time-shifting and operating evaluation is completed, if the Panasonic HDD recordings from tv1,2,3 are able to be transferred to a dvd on the internal DVD recorder for retaining and later viewing.

Sky has copy protect flags embedded in the Standard Definition vertical interval signal to prevent transfers to DVD recorder for those free to air channels (and some others like movies of course). I don't know if Freeview does the same and if it is enforced on the Panasonic PVR/DVR. i.e. can you record a classic episode of a TV1 FTA tv show to HDD and later transfer the recording to internal DVD or is it prohibited by the flag like Sky?

I've kept personal copies of some FTA nostalgic shows since the days of vhs.
