Yes, I can report a similar improvement in the use of the EPG and in playback. Let's hope the fix is permanent!

We may be OK now -- see how it goes. This arrived today from JC Matthew NZ support:
   Dear DVR-320T user,

We have been informed by Freeview that changes had been made on 16/11/2012 and the changes make the DVR-320T, which was affected by TV3 regionalsation, operate normally again.

Thanks.

Best regards,

JCMatthew Service Centre

I got the email too from Simon Hsiao at the JC Matthew service centre.  Am feeling cautious about it as well...

Anyone pushed them to explain what was wrong/what has been corrected?

finally working a lot better, EPG, FF/Rewind etc all seem to work OK now.

so did Mediaworks breach freeview specs? since there was no firmware upgrade required.

Hopefully all broadcasters will be bit more wiser about these type of changes going forward.

This whole episode has made me a bit wary, especially with DSO in progress. The idea that something may change on the Freeview side that will make my PVR obsolete and the fact it took nearly two months to fix is worrying.

I think I'm on 1.2.9, so I might give it a go. Never any indication of what's changed though!

What's on the JCM website now is v1.3.0
This version was sent to me by JCM tech support back in October, and I have been running it since then.
It has behaved exactly like the previous version as far as I can tell.
I would install it anyhow in case it fixes something.

Has anyone noticed this happening again? It doesn't seem to be as bad as before but it comes and goes (i.e. box is sometimes not very responsive to remote commands). Unplugging the aerial always results in flawless performance but makes it a bit hard to record programs!

Yup am experiencing the same with my Zinwell. Not quite as bad as before, but still bad enough to be annoying. It's got to the point where I'm keeping my eyes peeled for good PVR deals, can't be bothered dealing with this problematic unit any more!

Yes, can report the same issues here. Very slow response to remote commands - especially returning to 'play' from fast-forward. This is an absolute pain!
