nzpaul: I have two major frustrations with my  Dish TV aerialBox T2100:

1. Often when resuming shows it does not resume the show but starts at the beginning.

Thanks for noting this Paul, I'll get the software team to look into it.

2. If I series record Shortland Street, it records it on both TV2 and TV2+1. Can a series not be locked to a channel? My magicbox did that. This means that if I record many series on TV1,2 or 3 my tuners are effectively locked for much longer than they should because these channel all a "+1" sister channel.

This was found on our PVRs so I'll get the team to look into it for replication, I'll update you on how it goes.

Thanks. I am happy to assist in anyway I can to help the team replicate it.

Regarding problem 1. it does not happen every time. I have not seen a pattern. Sometimes it resumes, sometimes it does not.

I'll set up my unit tonight, could you do the same and replicate over tonight and weekend and see if this is the same on both points.

Hi Paul

I have messaged you, and from what you have sent me it looks like you have a T2200 PVR not a T2100 so make sure further discussions can be sent to the right topic here: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=179230

Hello
Since I have not received any answer to my technical questions (which processor is in the box, is it linux based, etc..) I have bought one T2200 STB.. and started to analyze it.

@DISHTV: it's not honest to claim that the product is a NZ technology, when it's not.

Clearly, all the hardware and software is made by an Indian Company, named Suresoft (http://www.ssofts.com/)

you can even see the logo of DishTV in the "customers" list of Suresoft (http://www.ssofts.com/images/customers.png)

Here is an extract of the log of the T2200 when starting
======================================================
    DISHTV
    (c) Suresoft Systems Pvt Ltd., 2005 - 2020
    Board Version        : H207
    Build on Jul 18 2015 at 12:12:20
======================================================

I'm wondering what is really done in NZ in this product ...

Marc

Hi, I just bought a T2100 today to replace my 500GB T1050 Dual tuner box - we hardly use dual recording and find we watch a lot more TVondemand so thought this new unit would be ideal, but having trouble with the wifi:

It connects perfectly fine when my router is broadcasting its SSID, but when I disable the SSID broadcast, even manually inputting the SSID into the T2100 it still can't find my router. Is this a known issue?

I will test this on my unit and will let the team look into it this week and will get back with you.

When rewinding shows, the current firmware does not show preview (single frames) of the show as you are rewinding every X seconds or whatever. So I have to keep rewinding, playing, remind some more, play again to see if I am where I need to be, etc.

Will a future firmware add this feature? Its pretty common with other PVRs and DVDs, Bluerays etc.

I'll definitely send this through and ask the software team to see if this can be implemented

Thanks Josh. I appreciate that. It is a real PITA how it is currently implemented. I don't expect that it should be real-time reverse (like in the days of the VCR), but like how DVD and Blueray (and other PVRs) are implemented would fantastic.

We have a few things in the pipeline and hope to release new products which have a much faster processor so we can in even more.

Oops, I also have the T2200 ... posted the support request on the wrong. Josh please let them know that both could use this feature upgrade.
