(I think you're meaning the quarterfinals rather than the semifinals.)
I found the same thing - a non-series record of Q1 flags it with an [R] and also flags Q2 with an [R]. Whether it will actually record Q2 is another question.
One possible solution is to also set the other channel to record, but I've been having problems lately with setting two consecutive recordings (with overlap) on one channel and another concurrent recording on another channel. Sometimes not all of the programmes appear on the Recorded list.
(My solution is to record the other channel on my Play TV.)

Maori TV tell me that they provide only the programme names and the start and end times and that the coding for the EPG is done by Clearvision for Freeview.
I've now written to Freeview asking them to get it straightened out.
As it turns out it the problem doesn't appear to be happening at Maori TV.
Although I was very frustrated when I wrote that email and it was a bit of an over-reaction, yes, if someone isn't doing their job properly then they should lose it.
Nah... I disagree. If someone isn't doing their job they either need to be re-trained, motivated correctly or similar. But firing someone for something as trivial as that, well, the employer would be gouged to pieces in court. Now if incompetence causes physical harm or death - that's a different story!
I have a magic tv unit with version 3.17NZ patched on it.
Not sure if it is related to the update I did last Tuesday or not but since then I have been unable to schedule anything successfully on Stratos (last checked earlier on today).
It keeps coming up with unable to book program at this time error -2)
There is the do not record flag ... one of those annoying controls that everybody hates. It's been used a bit for some programmes I've tried to record. It's also possible for accidental flagging I guess.
Are there any known issues regarding unresponsive buttons on the remote?
These days, I have to pretty much dig my fingernail deep into the centre of the play, jump and skip buttons to make them work, and even that doesn't always make them function. All other buttons are fine. Tried changing batteries, no difference.
Strangely, the play button works fine within the menus (eg pressing play when a recording is selected), but is a bear to try and press during playback.
Either the contacts for these buttons are wearing away (I assume this is a possibility?), or the MagicTV device is the problem... Happens on both version 3.13b6 and 3.16. HDD is error-free. Factory reset didn't help. Don't really want to try formatting and wipe all recorded programmes...

I've found the remote moderately direction sensitive, so make sure you're pointing at the IR rx on your Magic. There's a natural tendency to point at the TV rather than the PVR - which could be at a rather different angle.

The record option is being shown as available just that pesky error I mentioned in my earlier post.

this sorta sounds like the issue i had , i removed the screw s from the remote ¨snapped"it apart and found black deposits on the contacts for play and ffd. i cleaned them up and it was perfect again. it takes a brave person to pull this remote apart but i some how got the two halves apart intact and it has been perfect ever since. i had nothing to lose so it was an easy choice and i was well pissed off with it which helped. you can buy new remotes for 65 bucks but if you have nothing to lose and are one step from replacing its worth a shot. i would describe my symptoms as more intermittent which gave me the wrong conclusions many times for months before i turned my wrath on the remote ;)
