Thanks for all your experience ADKM. I have an S7090PVR and am thinking of the new one but wonder what advantages it has over the S7090. One of our main requirements is subtitles because my lovely lady has a serious hearing difficulty! The main requirement has been to get the subtitles synched, especially with recordings. I worked with Dish when I bought the S7090 to get it right. Have you had any experience with that?

No Bob, I've not done anything with subtitles but will try both live and recorded and see how they sync. Will let you know.

Not using subtitles much I wasn't sure what to expect, but certainly they're easy to read and as in-sync as they could be.
Some things flashed off pretty quick but that's probably normal?
There was no difference in the recording. 10 out of 10 for subtitles, I'd say :)

With this unit, are you able to use the HDMI - at full 1080p and the composite output at the same time?

Basicly .. HDMI at 1080p into my big tv, then use the composite out into an RF system to send round the house to other TV's.

Hi. I bought this unit last week to replace my Vuo Duo that recently died after suffering the red light of death - so far, very impressed. It has many features of the Vu Duo but best of all, the picture quality on my Panasonic Viera is definitely better. A couple of questions.... I have a dual channel LNB and have plugged in both cables. It works fine, but is there any advantage? We can fast forward through adverts in a recorded programme, but can we set a key for say a 60 second jump (asked before I think)? Is it possible to 'rearrange' the EPG listing - or even delete channels we would never look at? Thanks Josh.

This question might have been asked before, but I have not been able to find it:

Is there any plans for FreeviewPlus to become available for satellite recievers? If it becomes available, would it be something that the S8200 would be able to support?

There could be a possibility that Freeview Satellite may have FreeviewPlus but that's something to ask Freeview themselves.

And the S8200 is HbbTV ready so if in the future FreeviewPlus becomes available, the unit is future proofed.

1) channel list was deleted rescanning didn't fix. Restoring to factory default and rescanning channels worked.
2) when booking a recording on channel one it has also booked the same programme on tv 1+1

Any suggestions for 2)?

Just my opinion but the extra booking on +1 channels is non standard behaviour from a PVR. They should disable this by Default.

Firmware will only be available for the older units if there are any technical changes to the broadcast which may affect the end user viewing or how the recorders respond to any adjustments.
