Ok so I have reached out again to Panasonic and to their Technical manager with whom I have been dealing with since June (Yes June). Email as below was sent. Will let you know the reply.

"Hi ***** just wondering if there is going to be any resolution on this at all ??. I am seeing more and more people complaining of the same issue most who are saying there previous units were fine until purchasing one of these.

No disrespect to you what so ever but is it possible for this to be escalated up the chain at all so perhaps some more resources are thrown at it.

People with the same model except has the blu-ray player in it are having the same issue.

 Kind regards

 Jason"

My observations of live stream from my HWT260 last night for several hours resulted in a no fault found. Note: I didn't test any aspect of Freeview Plus though but it is enabled.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Bought this unit just a few weeks ago, and sometimes get a black screen (sound seems to continue) just for a second or two. I did have it once stay black screen until I had changed freeview channels.

After having the Magic 3700, this unit is still way better (fast forward/rewind actually work)

My unit is showing signal strength and quality at 10/10 for all channels. However Panasonic feel this problem is being caused by the TV signal. I am arranging for an aerial company to come in and check the BER readings.

I was thinking about this issue, before I pay for an aerial guru to come and look at my setup I have a question for the knowledgeable folks here. If this problem of black screens and freezing was a signal issue would it not be more constant and show a pattern? This issue is random and I have not been able to see a pattern or a set of circumstances.

If it was a signal issue you would the image pixelate to an extent depending on dropout.

I am convinced the issue is with the samsung box and I will be returning mine to Harvey Norman.

When you get a blank screen, can you do a live rewind and see if the replay also displays a blank screen.

I don't think it's a signal problem. I have the exact same issue with my dmr-pwt550. My Panasonic TV and MagicTV3600 don't exhibit this problem when plugged into the same aerial outlet. The only difference is the pwt550 is myfreeview+.

I seem to have cured my black screen issues, sort of. I have cancelled all timer record entries. However this takes away a major feature

I have solved mine by turning off the my sky plus option in the settings. This takes that option away though.
